National Bank of Malawi plc has announced the integration of its mobile banking platform Mo626, with Airtel Malawi mobile wallet Airtel money.

Briefing reporters in Lilongwe, NBM plc head of cards and e banking William Kaunda said the integration is in response to their customers’ request.

‘’ As a bank we always listen to our customers’ needs. We always want to give what customers want. This integration enables customers on Mo626 and Airtel Money platforms to send and receive money from each other.’’ He said

Kaunda said the integration will also foster financial inclusion as even people who have no accounts with national bank will benefit through the service by simply transacting on their mobile phones.

He said for Airtel customers they simply dial *211# select option 8 ‘bank ‘and select ‘national bank’ and input the corresponding information required like receiving number and amount.

For NBM customers, they have to dial *626# and log into their MO626ice select ‘send money’, ‘mobile wallet’ then select ‘Airtel Money’ and then input the corresponding information.
