National Bank of Malawi(NBM) has pledged to continue sponsoring golf to ensure that the country produces topclass golfers who can win on international level.. NBM head of treasury Harry Mukaka said this during the prze presentation ceremony to winners of the bank's sponsored tournament at Blantyre Sports Club on Saturday evening. "We as a bank are proud to be associated with this sport. We will continue sponsoring the sport as we have done before," said Mukaka.
During the event, renowned golfer Medson Kalambule displayed classic golfing skills to defend the title. He posted 37 points during the event wich was patronised by 81 golfers. Harold Lungu came second with 36 points. In the women's category, Margaret Mkwanda outclassed 8 women golfers to emerge winner. Mkwanda with a handicap of 34 pushed Teri Amaro to the second position on 33 and Connie Muguvu third on 31.
Nyakhoko Msona was decorated for his nearest to the pin and Amaro with the longest drive inthe women category. National Bank also donated K350,000 for maintenance of the greens.
NBM Golf Day in Lilongwe will be on the 14th of November 2015.
