National Bank of Malawi NBM plc gave K7.4m to 20 needy students from the Polytechnic a constituent college of the University of Malawi to cover for their tuition fees.

This follows the appeal by the Alumni Association to the Malawi Stock Exchange listed bank to help 105 students at the polytechnic in need of help.

NBM Head of Human Capital Division Charles Dulira said the bank wants to ensure that the students fulfil their ambitions in life.

“We strongly believe that it is only through the promotion of such important resource by every citizen at all levels of society that Malawi as a country can achieve success and progress.’’ He said

Dulira said equipping students with the right skills and knowledge, in calculating desired values and developing their character is key to the country’s education system

The Polytechnic principal Grant Kululanga commended NBM for the continued provision of scholarships to their third year students in facilities of commerce, Applies Sciences, Engineering, education and Media Studies.

“This scholarship support will go a long way in contributing to human capital development of our nation. We applaud National bank for their continued support.’’ He said.
