NBM Mwanza Service Centre Opens
National Bank of Malawi(NBM) opened Mwanza Service centre on Saturday, June 8, 2013, bringing the total number of its service centres to 30.
This follows incresed demand for servies in the district as well as the growth of the town, according to NBM corporate affairs manager, Annie Magola.
.
“Mwanza has existing National Bank customers who in the absence of our service were being servced from Blantyre service centres. The introduction of Mwanza Service Centre will be of great advantage to our existing customers and those who desire to bank with National Bank.”
“There are numerous small scale traders in Mwanza who are unbanked including employees of various companies and government departments who require National Bank services but were unable to get thme due to the distance to the nearest service centres,” she says.
Magola further indicated that NBM has been looking at SME’s policy to see how best they can serve them. The refiend policy focuses on how best the bank can support initiatives being undertaken by existing SME’s.
“This can best be achieved with our presence where the SME’s are located. Mwanza has many SME’s who have been waiting for our brick and mortar presence in the district.”
“Mwanza being on the boarders with Mozambique and along the main route to our major trading partners South Africa and Zimbabwe, this development will benefit the traders who use this route for their foreign exchange transactions,” she adds.
