National Bank Of Malawi (NBM) plc has donated hospital theatre equipment to Malamulo Mission Hospital in Thyolo District.

The bank made a donation after the call for support from m the hospital.

Among other items, the bank has donated a theatre bed, oxygen concentrators and monitors worth over K5 million.

Making the donation, NBM Chief Executive Officer Mcfussy Kawawa said the bank values good health hence supporting the hospital.

“As a bank, we want to see our customers and the entire population in good health so that they can ably contribute toward national development. That is why when they came knocking, we did not hesitate.’’ Kawawa said

Kawawa said the bank would be coming with more support to the hospital and other hospitals as need arise.

Malamulo Chief Executive Officer, Jason Blanchard hailed NBM for the support saying it would help the hospital save lives

The donation has just come the right time. We will no longer have problems conducting operations on our patients including the expectant mothers.’’ Blanchard said

Malamulo mission hospital which was established in 1915 serves over 100,000 people in and around the area of traditional authority Khwetemule in Thyolo.
