National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc employees on Father’s Day, Sunday, gave a motivational talk and the donated books worth K2 million to Chigoneka Secondary School in Lilongwe.

Senior male employees, led by NBM plc Capital City Servive Centre  manager George Nyirenda, spent time with the learners while emphasising on the importance of school and being a responsible citizen.

He said: “The bank sent fathers to this school to celebrate with the leaners here and at the same time demonstrate how a responsible father should behave.

“One of the roles of a responsible father is supporting the young one, to develop into responsible men of tomorrow.”

The school’s head teacher Benadetta Chitwele thanked the bank for the motivational talk and the donation, which she said came at the right time.

She said: “We had shortage of textbooks here. Twenty students used to share one book. “But with this gift, more students will now be able to access text books and it will improve performance.”

Trevor Kaunjika, a Form Four student at the school,saaud he has been challenged to work hard in class and behave.
