PRSM conference gets NBM boost

The Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM) Annual Conference has gotten a boost following National Bank of Malawi's K3 million sponsorship.

Scheduled for 5-7th October, 2023 at the Makokola retreat in Mangochi, the conference is being held under the theme: 'Complete Communicator'

About 250 delegates from various companies are expected to attend the conference touted as a powerhouse for innovation and collaborations.

The bank's Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager Akossa Hiwa said the bank realizes the vital role communication plays in shaping the narrative for different brands.

"Communication is vital, important in every aspect of human interaction at personal, institutional and national level.

"It is humbling the society has grown, hosting webinars. Supporting such initiatives is a privilege. The world is changing so there is a need for practitioners to keep up with the trends."

PRSM executive member, Rachel Mhango commended NBM for their support saying this is not the first time they have been of help to the society.

She explained the money will help them as they engage, learn, network, interact and collaborate.

"We want to ensure enhancing professional and ethical standards in the sector. We prioritize learning from one another."

She mentioned the conference is a platform for communicators to come together to exchange ideas, foster trust, engage, and forge relationships.

Mhango said the society needs a lot of support as they need K30 million for the conference and called for corporates and brands to come through.

Currently there is  a K15 million deficit to cater for the conference expenses.
