National Bank of Malawi (NBM) Plc has awarded Innovations Jam Winner: LINQ Finances and Noble Agriculture technology for their great innovations presented in the Innovations Jam competition.

The two winners scooped MWK2,300,000.00 and an all-expenses paid international trip to attend the SA Innovation Summit expo happening this year from 27th to 29th September, 2022.

During the prize presentation held at Latitude Hotel in Lilongwe on April 4, 2022, NBM plc Lilongwe service Centre Manager Mr. Eric Bob Munthali said National Bank of Malawi fully understands and appreciates the pivotal role that innovations and technology play in Malawi’s developmental agenda. He disclosed that the bank will continue supporting the innovators across the country.

The Association of Vendors in Blantyre has applauded one of the the country’s leading banks, National Bank of Malawi (NBM) Plc for introducing new digital financial customer services which is helping its clients to make transactions in a smooth manner that is improving time management.

The vendors disclosed this on Wednesday during a dinner organized by the bank at its Head Offices in Blantyre, where the association’s chairperson, Martin Matchindu revealed because most Blantyre and Limbe based traders were not able to assist customers who are requesting to transact through mobile banking and e-wallets.

The ICT Association of Malawi (ICTAM) has commended National Bank of Malawi for its efforts in leading the digital inclusion of financial services in the country.

ICTAM President Bram Fudzulani disclosed this during a dinner hosted by NBM, where the bank engaged various stakeholders to seek feedback on their digital coverage and performance and also update them on their continued efforts to improve their efforts.

The traders enjoyed a tour of the bank’s departments at the Head Office as well as Top Mandala Branch followed by a cocktail with the bank’s senior managers.

Through the tour, the traders learned more about the role of the bank in the country’s development as well as financing products available for them.

Enala Chirwa, NBM plc e-Banking Services Manager Enala Chirwa, NBM plc e-Banking Services Manager National Bank of Malawi (NBM) plc in partnership with Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) have concluded a three-month ‘Kwathu Pa Mo’ promotion with a lucky winner getting the grand prize of six months’ rent paid by the bank.

MHC tenant Blessings Mbamba will not pay rent for the next six months for winning the grand prize while another lucky winner Tamara Msiska won a K500,00 cash prize for paying ground rentals using NBM plc’s mobile banking platform Mo626ice.

The promotion which started on 1 December 2021 and run through to 28 February 2022 was aimed at encouraging tenants and other people to pay their rentals and other fees through the mobile banking platform.

Speaking during the final draw in Blantyre, NBM plc e-Banking services Manager Enala Chirwa hailed the promotion saying it was a success as there has been an upsurge of customers using the mobile platform to pay their rentals and other services in general.

MLS is scheduled to hold their AGM and conference in Mangochi from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 March 2022 whose theme is ‘Law, Sustainable Development and the African Single Market: Towards the African Agenda 2063 and Malawi Vision 2063’.
