NBM was earlier this year named a Golden Award winner in the Best Employers Awards organized by the Employers consultative Association of Malawi (Ecama). Teveta was a collaborating partner with Ecama in the training and human resource category.

Teveta's director of training programmes Wilson  Makulumiza-Nkhoma said an assessment conducted for Ecama by business advisory KPMG identified NBM as one of the best employers when it comes to training and human resource development.

“The launch of the scholarships is a further step in our relationship with the Govt. through the Ministry of Health, because every year among other deserving areas, the Bank sets aside some funds from its profits to assist different hospitals in the country either by procuring drugs (medicines) and equipment or refurbishment of infrastructure. This is so because we have put the health sector as the number one beneficiary in our Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR) Policy.

In response to appeals for school furniture, National Bank of Malawi has donated desks and chairs to Ntejera Community Day Secondary and Limbe Primary Schools. Ntenjera CDSS received 120 sets of desk and chair while Limbe Primary received 200 sets.
