National Bank Gold Awards

On 13th November 2017, National Bank presented Gold Awards, in the Employee Recognition Awards program, to employees whose performance was very outstanding.  The Awards were for the first half of 2017.

The Awardees are Peggy Banda from Cards and e-Banking, Lumbani Namwera from Mulanje Service Centre, Catherine Mojoo from Treasury and Investment Banking Division and Phillip Kalembera from Information Technology, Organisation and Methods Division Division.

NBM MO626 College Basketball Launched

The newly introduced National Bank of Malawi-sponsored MO626 college Basketball Championship was launched on Saturday, 28th October, 2017

Vice President Saulos Chilima who was the guest of honor, set the pace by featuring in the launch match between Malawi colleges alumni team and the current student select side. the veterans came from behind to beat 46-43, with Chilima sealing the victory for the old guards with seconds to the final whistle when he converted two points.

Zungu, Mpanga win NBM Mulanje Golf Tournament

Halmiton Zungu and Joshbed Mpanga won National Bank of Malawi golf tournament at the Mulanje Golf Club on sunday, 15th October.

Playing off handicap 21, Zungu, a South African national who started playing golf mid last year scored 67 points to beat 68 other golfers to claim the men's title while the Lilongwe Based Mpanga was the victor in the women's category.

National Bank of Malawi will sponsor college basketball tournament to the tune of K30 million.

The Bank unveiled the sponsorship on Friday, at the head office in Blantyre witnessed by the Basketball Association of Malawi (BASMAL) officials and the National Council of Sports Executive Secretary, George Jana.

National Bank of Malawi has donated 110 desks and chairs to Njewa Community Day Secondary School as a way of alleviating the school's problems of furniture. The bank's Head of Business Process Management,  Brian Boby said the 55million kwacha worth of donation is aimed to enable the youth to attain education in a conducive environment.

National Bank of Malawi on 22nd September 2017 donated assorted items worth 5 million kwacha to Stephanos Foundation in Blantyre. The items included 254 chairs,206 plastic buckets 500 sanitary pads and 71 travelling bags.

National Bank of Malawi's Company Secretary, Zunzo Mitole said that National Bank of Malawi believes that the children are the future of the country, therefore, the need for them to be supported.

The aim of this partnership is to make small and medium business (SME)customers to order, purchase and import products to Malawi conveniently and affordably. “We are aware that many hospitals in our country are running on minimal medical supplies. The doctors and other health personnel work as hard as they can to supply the best care available, but often, it’s not enough. In considering this, it pleased the bank’s management to approve the request that we received from the hospital that we assist with medical equipment.

The shortage of functional medical equipment is a critical barrier to meeting the health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Lack of quality medical equipment or poor state of medical equipment is a key challenge our hospitals face in delivering services.
